6 Pet-Friendly Corporate Housing Options

Have a dog or cat and want to bring them along the trip? Read our resource to find a pet friendly corporate housing option.

The American Pet Products Association (APPA) reports that 68 percent of all households in the United States own a pet. That’s a lot of pets—roughly 89 million dogs and 94 million cats, to be exact.

If you’re relocating or traveling for work and looking for pet-friendly corporate housing, you’re certainly not alone. Bringing your dog or cat along for the journey with you is special and offers a piece of home and companionship.

We’ve put together a resource to help you find the perfect option for pet-friendly corporate housing. We’ll cover a handful of different companies to choose from, along with pet-friendly amenities to look for, and some tips to help you along with your search.

1. Blu Corporate Housing

Blu Corporate Housing offers over 64,000 furnished rentals. With locations in places like Nashville, Las Vegas, and Jacksonville, they make it easy to find a short term stay when you’re traveling for work. If you have specific requirements, you can let the company know and they’ll select appropriate properties. Alternatively, you can also peek around their website to see if properties in a particular area are pet-friendly. A quick look at Portland, for example, will lead you to this rental, which notes that it’s a pet-friendly development.

2. The Corporate Housing Store

The Corporate Housing Store is another nationwide provider of fully furnished, short term stays. Their rentals feature smart home and eco-friendly features, pet-friendly amenities, and green space. To find a property in a specific area, just click on a state, and see what they offer. When you check availability, make sure to specify any special needs or requests, like enough room square footage for a big dog or a nearby dog park. By narrowing down the amenities you wish to have during your extended stay or at your new corporate rental, you can find the best fit for you and your needs!

3. Corporate Housing By Owner

Corporate Housing By Owner allows you to search for pet-friendly corporate housing rentals throughout the United States and the world. When you make your way to the search bar, enter the dates and location of your extended stay. When you click on a listing that interests you, you’ll find a “features” section, which will tell you what each property offers. Among features like the number of bedrooms and bathrooms and the square footage, you’ll see whether or not the property allows pets. Not every property does, so it’s important to check these details before you book. Whether you’re searching for internships that provide housing while you study abroad or a place to vacation, their around-the-world accommodations make Corporate Housing By Owner a flexible, easy choice.

4. Avenue West

Avenue West is another option to check out when searching for pet-friendly corporate housing. They have rentals in areas like Denver, Scottsdale, Fort Collins, and Toronto. When you’re browsing through their listings, make your way down to the features and amenities section of the search bar. From there, you can select “pets” which will take you to all their pet-friendly apartments.

5. AHI Corporate Housing

AHI Corporate Housing is pet friendly at all of their locations, though they do abide by the rules and regulations of each individual property. To all of their pet guests, AHI provides a water bowl, pet food scoop, a placemat, and a comfy blanket. The fun part about AHI’s pet-friendly corporate housing accommodations is that your pet gets to keep these gifts even after you check-out. Every week, AHI also encourages guests to share #PetFriendlyFriday. They’ll post images of their pet guests and you’ll have a chance to be featured on their Facebook page.

6. Zeus Living

At Zeus Living, we’re proud to offer pet-friendly corporate housing accommodations. Many of our homes allow pets with a limit of two pets per home. To see if a specific home or furnished apartment allows pets, visit the amenities section on the listing page.

There, you’ll find all the listed amenities, like a hot tub, free private parking, indoor fireplace, on-site laundry facility, BBQ grill, and more. You’ll also see a paw icon. If the words pet-friendly are visible, you’re all set. If they’re crossed out, you can continue with your search to find an apartment or home that fits your temporary housing need.

We charge a one-time, non-refundable fee of $250 per pet. This covers a deep cleaning post-check-out to prevent any allergy-related illness in our homes. If there are pet-related damages, these will be debited from the security deposit.

If you’re using a service animal, we encourage you to contact us before your stay at stay@zeusliving.com. You can also use this email to contact us regarding breed restrictions.

Pet-Friendly Amenities

When you’re searching for pet-friendly corporate housing, there are a handful of amenities to keep in mind. These amenities are top-notch for your four-legged friends and may be hard to find, but it never hurts to ask.

Community Dog Park

Some pet-friendly communities boast a community dog park. Not only is this a good place to stretch your legs and let your furry pal run free, but it’s a good way to meet neighbors. If you’re new to the area, a community dog park lets both you and your pup socialize and mingle.

Pet Washing Station

After a day spent hiking or exploring, a pet-washing station can be super convenient. Wash off those muddy paws before you make your way into your sparkling clean apartment.

Pet Walking Service

Some buildings offer pet walking services for your pups. If you plan to be out and about or in the office frequently, this is a nice way for your pet to get the jitters out.

Cat Perches

Cats love high perches. They’re fun to climb and they help your feline-friend see their environment. Some pet-friendly rentals come complete with a cat perch or two. When you’re inquiring about pet-friendly corporate housing for your kitty, ask about their beloved cat perch, too.

Treats

Both humans and pets thrive in atmospheres where treats are prevalent. In some larger apartment complexes, you’ll find a nice jar of treats in the lobby (treats for your pet, that is).

Pet Daycare Service

Doggy daycare can be one of the extreme perks in the pet-friendliest of apartment buildings. If you don’t have a doggy daycare in the actual community, reach out and see if there are pet daycare services nearby. For those travelers who don’t want to go too far to drop their pup off in the morning, this can be a game-changer.

Pet-Friendly Tips

Hunting for pet-friendly corporate housing is simple if you know what you’re searching for. Here are some simple tips to help you along with the process.

Consider the Location

When you have location flexibility, you can look for specific areas that are more pet-friendly than others.

According to DogTime, these are the top 10 dog-friendliest cities in America.

  • Portland, Oregon
  • Seattle, Washington
  • San Francisco, California
  • Austin, Texas
  • Chicago, Illinois
  • Colorado Springs, Colorado
  • Boston, Massachusetts
  • San Diego, California
  • Tucson, Arizona
  • Albuquerque, New Mexico

Similarly, TheStreet lists the following locations as the most pet-friendly overall.

  • Scottsdale, Arizona
  • Orlando, Florida
  • Tampa,Florida.
  • Austin, Texas
  • Phoenix, Arizona.
  • Las Vegas, Nevada
  • Atlanta, Georgia
  • St. Louis, Missouri
  • Seattle, Washington
  • Portland, Oregon
Ask About Hidden Fees

Most prospective managers and landlords will ask for an extra security deposit or additional pet rent as part of their corporate lodging rate . But some may come with an assortment of hidden pet fees. Ask about all fees upfront to avoid any potential frustration down the line.

Be Honest

Whether it’s long term housing or short term housing you’re after, it’s always important to be honest. Some renters are tempted to lie about having pets or be dishonest about specific breeds. Honesty is always the best policy, especially when it comes to renting. Otherwise, you run the risk of getting you (and your pet) kicked out.

Whether you’re traveling with one pet or two, a pup, or a cat, we’re certain you’ll find the perfect pet-friendly corporate housing accommodations. Thankfully today, tons of people have pets, and many travelers bring them along for the trip.

Once you find that ideal spot for you and your furry four-legged companion, you can settle in and enjoy your space. Don’t forget to bring good flicks up on the TV, too, like Marley and Me, Garfield the Movie, Beethoven…

Pop some popcorn, sit back, relax, and snuggle your pet. If you have any questions about our pet-friendly homes, feel free to reach out. The Zeus team is always just a quick email or phone call away.
